Thursday we were fortunate enough to get out of school early due to snow and icy conditions and we followed it up with a day off on Friday! Woo hoo! I needed some time off to get a few things caught up around the house and to start creating a few more things for school. This time of year is always crazy busy, but to add to it, we are having a Breakfast with Santa fundraiser for encore teachers and it has been taking up tons of extra time. It should be lots of fun though!  

I think all of this snow and chilly weather is making me anxious for spring to arrive! I have sunshine, green grass, flowers, and all kinds of wonderful thoughts of being outside! What about you? Are you ready for some Spring time weather?

I've been busy creating today and trying to put off reading all the great living room posts at Kelly's Korner Show Us Your Life Home Tour series. :) Does anyone else love seeing a glimpse into how other people decorate? I think I'm obsessed with getting new ideas on how to decorate and then not doing any of them. Ha! ;)

Is it just me or is anyone else super thankful that they have air conditioning right about now? I love summer and summer activities, but I don't enjoy humidity or sweating at all! I actually had to give myself a pep talk to go outside to water my plants and shrubs.

So instead of playing outside, I've spent the majority of the day inside catching up on blog posts from the last month and a half. I have also started working on a few new items, as well. I had a request from a sweet reader, Brooke, to make a sombrero hundreds chart for Cinco de Mayo and I tried really hard to make one work, but it kept looking like a weird, brightly colored cowboy hat. So, I found a picture of maracas online and thought maybe they would work instead. What do you think? Is it too over the top and cheesy?

How sad is it that I didn't even know that Cinco de Mayo was Spanish for the fifth of May until I was an adult? Clearly I'm sheltered and have had zero foreign language classes in my lifetime! I am pretty sure the only reason I know how to count to 10 in Spanish is because of watching Sesame Street as a child. :)

Just popping in to add a freebie for your Math Work Stations for March. I hope everyone is doing well and getting lots of new ideas for March. We are gearing up for our Dr. Seuss celebration and I'm loving all the great ideas I've seen on everyone's blogs and through Pinterest. I have way more resources accumulated that I'll ever be able to use and I'm loving that!

March Math & Literacy Stations Linky Party! 

So, just for insanity fun today, I decided to create a version of a 'Peek at My Week' for literacy and math work stations like THE Deedee Wills from Mrs. Wills Kindergarten. After finishing up, I decided I truly don't know how she keeps up with it each week. She's amazing and has all of her things all lined out each week and actually has it on her blog for others to see. Like, every week!

Here's where I'm at. I did finish a Literacy & Math Stations of the Week document, but I can't imagine that I would be able to change it every week. Mainly because it took me forever to print everything, add everything to the lesson chart and I haven't even done all the cutting and laminating. Deedee, how do you do it???

Can't we just figure out a way to clone these fabulous Kindergarten teachers and have them by our sides everyday to get us in a greatness routine? Please!!!

Plus, I'm trying to stick with my goal of paying off our land this year, so we'll be completely debt free. Therefore, all of the links I have listed were things that I was able to get for free. (This might help you, too! Just one of the stations would cost you anything, but it's well worth every penny!) When my debt free goal is met, I'm totally buying every great unit I see! Ha!

Have any of you tried creating plans like Deedee's? Do you have any secrets for me? I'd really like to figure out a way to embed my Pinterest pins in a Word document to make them clickable links. Then, I could do the picture and link part all in one step. Any suggestions for how to make this work?  If I do this again, I might have to just compose all of it in a blog post so it's a little easier.

Just something fun for skip counting by tens. I included a color copy and a black and white version. I just spent $60 on ink for my home printer and I'll probably use half of it over the next 24 hours printing out all the fabulous things I've found for winter and February. :) I will likely print this once in color and have black and white copies for students to put on a sentence strip or pre-cut construction paper.

I finally had the chance to sit down a create a freebie for the squirrel mini treat envelopes I talked about in this post.  I realize that not everyone may have a Dollar General nearby to be able to get these exact envelopes, so I created something similar for you to print and fold. It won't take a lot of ink for the envelope, either. You can always print it out in grayscale and copy it onto construction paper, too. I hope you like it! There are 25 pages in all.

I can't help myself! I know it isn't even Thanksgiving yet, but Denyse at Scrappin' Doodles is making so many cute graphics that I have to get busy using all of them before Christmas sneaks up on me! The Christian radio station I listen to is playing Christmas music right now, but only on the weekends and I've been LOVING it! I've been in the mood to put my tree up for awhile now. I'll wait until Thanksgiving though. :)

Tonight, I created a Christmas Candy Math Flip Book that covers the numbers 1-20. You can bind it to use it as a flip book or cut apart the pages to create a matching game. I hope you like it!

I made this printable to go along with the Disney book Numbers from the Target Dollar Spot. The book has rhyming text with numbers and counting. The book includes puppy characters from 101 Dalmations. However, the printable can be used alone.


I intend to use How Many Spots? along with Do-A-Dot markers or bingo daubers. Students will use the markers/daubers to complete the puppy's missing spots on each page.  I hope you find it useful!

I thought the sea animals at Dollar Tree were so cute I knew I could use them for something, so I created a few printables to go along with them. If you don’t purchase the sea animals, but still want to use the free printables, I created a page of printable manipulatives that you can use.

I created a few printables for math work stations to go with the cute heart beads in the Dollar Spot at Target. I like having real items that students can use as manipulatives.

Today, I had to go back into town to get brush killer and a pump to try to kill the insane amount of poison ivy we have climbing several of the barbed wire fences around our yard. I am highly allergic and have had it three times this spring/summer already. I’m so tired of scratching that I was ready to spend whatever it took to have it all gone!
So, I took advantage of the trip to run by a different Dollar Tree this afternoon. I'm most excited about the ice cream bowls! :) My thought was to make these into another math work station. I would add number cards and have students spoon ice cream (pom poms) into their ice cream bowls. I would also include some recording sheets with ten frames and paint markers. I will try to make that later as a freebie in case any of you get these, too.

I bought the divided plates for addition and subtraction. The drink stirrers go with the palm trees I got last night for use as individual pointers during Guided Reading, The Daily 5—Read to Self/Someone, etc. The foam number puzzles will be for putting numbers in order and then I’m already working on a recording sheet for 10-20.

Now, where do I put all of this until school starts?
