This is the first year that we have planned not to take our Kindergarten students to the zoo. Every year it seems like we battle with the weather and it's so unpredictable that it was easier to go with an indoor field trip this year and not have to worry about rescheduling. I'm really looking forward to our new destination (a science and discovery center), but I will definitely miss the zoo. However, we were lucky enough to still get to teach a unit on zoo animals!

Is it just me or is anyone else super thankful that they have air conditioning right about now? I love summer and summer activities, but I don't enjoy humidity or sweating at all! I actually had to give myself a pep talk to go outside to water my plants and shrubs.

So instead of playing outside, I've spent the majority of the day inside catching up on blog posts from the last month and a half. I have also started working on a few new items, as well.
