Alphabet Hundred Chart Activities: A to Z

I've been busy creating today and trying to put off reading all the great living room posts at Kelly's Korner Show Us Your Life Home Tour series. :) Does anyone else love seeing a glimpse into how other people decorate? I think I'm obsessed with getting new ideas on how to decorate and then not doing any of them. Ha! ;)

So, in an effort to be productive, I made an Alphabet Hundred Chart Activities: A to Z set for TpT. Instead of revealing a picture on each new page like my other hundred chart activities, a new letter will be revealed! These would be perfect for whole class, small group or centers/stations. I hope you like them! Click on the picture below to take a peek.

I would love to give this set away to the first three people who comment about how you could use these in your classroom. Be sure to leave your email address! Thank you to those who commented! Enjoy your new activities!

Word Family Sliders

Last night while I was at school (super late) getting ready for my new little guy today, I was working really hard on setting up a few more word work stations for my students. We have had the Slide and Learn Word Families sliders above from Really Good Stuff for about two years now and up to this point, I had primarily only used them for whole class activities. I had them available for stations, but there was no accountability other than the child sliding the blue rime and pretending to read. Bad teacher, I know.  Basically, only students who could read or those who wanted to have something play with would even pick them up.

So, I decided to make a recording sheet for the students to complete as they are working with the sliders.  I also made two rings for differentiation. One ring holds our regular word family words and the second ring has a little bit harder rimes. Click on the picture below to get your copy of the Word Family Sliders recording sheet. .

If you are interested in purchasing a set, here's a link to the product. They are $29.99.

You can always make your own, too. I like the colors of the paint chips below. However, you can make these out of white paper, construction paper, scrapbook paper, cardstock or whatever your little heart desires.

The number one search that leads people to my blog is some form of The Daily 5 in pictures. Since there are so many people searching, I can only imagine that others like freebies as much as I do. :) I made a small file of printables with Signs, Pocket Chart Headers and Pocket Chart Grouping Cards for use with managing The Daily 5. Here are just a few of the pictures below. Click on the pictures to take you to the freebie. Enjoy!

The Daily 5 in Kindergarten

A friend recently introduced me to the book The Daily 5 by Gail Boushey and Joan Moser at a conference we were attending. I had heard of the book in conversation, but never had the chance to look at it. After reading the introduction, I was hooked. My principal purchased the book for our school and I'm currently reading it. I am now on the lookout for all kinds of information pertaining to how to implement The Daily 5 in my Kindergarten classroom.

You can purchase this book at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and many other book stores.

Here are a few links I found interesting.
