Earlier this year, I had seen the rhyme Five Little Cookies and I loved it! It has quite a few different versions, but I liked the simplest one the best. I knew it was something I could adapt for different themes. We are getting ready to work on subtraction this week and I needed something that would fit Easter and subtraction. This Easter Treats Ten Frame and Base Ten Number Match freebie is like the set I had for St. Patrick's Day, but I changed it to include Easter graphics. I will be using it for centers and review this week. I hope you enjoy it!

Earlier this week, I posted on Facebook that I wasn't sure I would be able to teach all five days this week. Between professional development days, Spring Break and other theme type days, I couldn't remember the last time I had taught an entire week.

I thought I was doing well, until today.

As I'm casually going about teaching calendar time, one of my little girls said, "Do you know you are wearing two different shoes?" Mind you, she's the same student we affectionately refer to as Carol after Kristin's post at The Teeny Tiny Teacher. Be sure to read her story if you haven't already.

So, I look down and see that I have one black ruffly flip-flop on my left foot and a black flip-flop with sequins on the right. Oh, my stars! All I could do was laugh and mention that at least they were the same color. I also told them that it was apparently Fun Feet Friday and I was the only one that participated. They didn't buy it!

I jokingly begged my class not to tell anyone, which erupted into shouts of who they were going to tell followed by lots of giggling. I told them I was glad the shoes looked pretty close to the same because no one else would probably notice. I said one is ruffly the other has sequins, but otherwise, they were pretty close.

Fast forward 10 minutes and we were talking about the sequence of events in the story There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick and one of my little boys says, "Sequence, that's like on your shoe!" (He thought it was the same as sequins.) I thought that was too cute!

In my defense, I literally ran out the door this morning trying to get to the store as fast as possible to buy my son and his friends some snacks for his lock-in at school tonight. I can't promise I won't make the same mistake again, but we definitely had a good laugh today. At the end of the day, one of our bus drivers, who is also our H.S. Ag teacher, told me that once he was at school and one of the teachers had shown up in her slip and he had to break the news to her. At least my shoes weren't that embarrassing!

Like I said, at least I made it all five days this week!!! Have you ever done something silly like this? Please tell me I'm not the only one!  Feel free to embarrass yourself anonymously if you need to just to make me feel better!

Are you getting tired of these yet? I still have readers emailing me asking me to make more, so as long as there are suggestions, I will make what I can to share. I have had several suggestions that I've tried working on with no luck. Sometimes the boxes are a little too boxy to make a picture look right and an image that should look cute will look all wonky. :) I am completely open to more suggestions though. These are so much fun to make!
