How do you organize all the links to freebies and activites you find?

For those of you who read my blog in a reader, I wanted to let you know about a new page I created. It's very new, so please do not pay attention to the fact that I haven't entered much yet. :)

The new page is titled Themes, as you can see above. I wanted to my blog to be more functional for myself and those of you who visit that like to see what I might be doing in my classroom. Unfortunately, blogging about a new link every time I find a great activity isn't something you would probably like to see. My posts would be even more out of control than they already are on a daily basis. Ha!

So, I decided to create a Google Docs form to help me submit links that would also allow me to organize freebies and paid items by month, subject, lesson, etc. Check out the new page tab underneath my header and let me know what you think. As I mentioned, I just created it a few minutes ago, so I haven't submitted much yet. I'm getting a new IEP student tomorrow, so I need to go to school for awhile tonight and get a few things ready.

So, what do you think? How do you organize all the great ideas you get?

  3. Once again my friend, you seize to AMAZE me! I wish I could do what you do! I LOVE your organization! (that might be the OCD in me though). You seriously need to do a tutorial on blogging! Like how to add all those titles at the top of your blog. I only have Home and About Me up there. I tried to figure out how to add a "Contact Me" link but for the life of me couldn't figure it out! Yep, I am definitely (jealous) in awe of you! You truly are so talented! Have a fantastic week!

    1. Thank you for your sweet message! I posted about how to add the pages (tabs) in my latest post here. It's super easy! Let me know if you need any help.

I love organization, too! My digital files everywhere though have been getting out of control. I'm bad not to print everything when I find it. I try to save black and white stuff for school and color for at home, but then sometimes I just get confused. Ha!

  4. Oh my gosh that's such a great idea! I don't have any organization system for stuff I find. I have discovered that if I don't download it when I see it, I can never find the freebie again. So I've tried organizing things on my external hard drive into folders for subjects, months, and themes. But it's a little out of control. I'm all for a tutorial on how to add titles at the top of your blog. I don't have any.

    1. Thank you, Kerri! You sound just like me. My husband bought me an external hard drive during Christmas when I was having computer troubles and I save a lot to it now. My files are somewhat organized on my computer, but not nearly as well as I'd like them to be. Not everyone always posts their info. on their freebie items and I like to credit people when I use their things. I'm hoping this system will work better for me.

In case you didn't see it, I posted about how to add the pages (tabs) to your blog in my latest post here. Let me know if you need any help.

    1. What a great idea. I am a spreadsheet kind of organizer myself. Laying the ideas out in a broad way like this makes the job feel more doable.

  6. This is a fabulous idea! Seriously! I'd love to do something similar! I still need to figure out how to use Google forms like that, though! ;) Right now I try to organize on my hard drive, Pinterest, and FB...I clearly need more organization!

    1. Thanks, Carla! Google Forms are really easy to use. Up to now, I've been organizing all of my things the same way. Unfortunately, I end up not having everything I need between school and home. I'm hoping this way will work better for being able to find things when I'm online. I hope to not clog up my hard drive so much. We'll see though! :)
