After testing my kiddos on 2D shape recognition Wednesday and 60% of them not being able to recall the name of the hexagon after several days of direct instruction, I knew I had to do something to help. So, I came up with a song and a simple worksheet that I'm hoping will help them remember this time. (I'll let you know when I retest next week.)

Thanks, Marlana! You are right. They always don't remember the hexagon. I just finished up as well and found this to be true. I am going to use this as a small group intervention activity for those who still can't identify it.

I almost died when I read this post! We discussed hexagons last week in Math, and after having my kids "meet" Circle Jo, Sally Square, etc, they were upset with me that I didn't have a hex friend for them to meet! I searched everywhere!! At least now I'm ready for next year!!
