Second day of summer break and I'm already planning for next year!

Yikes! I cannot believe it has been 2 1/2 weeks since my last post. I'm so sorry! In my defense, it was either my blog or my family during the craziness we call the end of the year and as you can see, my family won out! :) I hope you understand and stick with me!

I spent my first day of summer vacation working in the yard yesterday with my family. We planted shrubs, blackberries, raspberries, tomatoes, and several pretty plants. I mowed the yard and worked on lots of weeding. It was great to be outside and just enjoy the fresh air. I was outside from 9:30 AM to 9:45 PM with the occasional break for water, meals and potty breaks. It was so refreshing!

With all the time I had to think, I couldn't stop thinking about what I'm going to do differently next year. Do you do this? I am working on a few Common Core lessons and mapping out my year.

Lately, my nights have been filled with catching up on blog posts by some fabulous teachers. I don't know how all of you survive the last few weeks of school and still find time to blog everyday. I am in awe! I couldn't even get ahead enough to schedule posts.

I'm anxious for summer break and I hope that most of you are already out of school or are getting out soon. I look forward to adding lots more to my blog over the summer. In the mean time, feel free to share or let me know what you'd like to see from me.

Have a blessed summer!

  1. Sounds like you had a great, but busy day! I think it is just natural for us to be constantly planning and trying to improve for the next year. :)

  4. Blackberries....yummy! Today was officially my last work day. Now, I am on a hunt for the perfect lesson plan template. There are exactly 80 days until I am back in my classroom. And, yes, it is a bit scary that I have done the math.

    1. Yay! You're out of school! I can't bring myself to count how many days until I go back. I can't handle the truth! Ha! I love being home with my own babies sooo much! Good luck with your hunt to find the perfect lesson plan template. My schedule is changing a lot this year, so I have to completely revamp mine. Let me know if you find something fabulous!

  5. We have another week and then I'm teaching summer school-so technically my summer vacation will start the end of July :(. I also am already thinking about changes to make for next year-lots of books and blogs to catch up on.

    1. You won't hardly get a break. Bless your heart! Like you, I'm have a lot of professional books and blogs to catch up on. I have a stack of books that is almost half as tall as my 5 year-old daughter. :) Sadly, I keep putting it off though. Reading professional books makes me sleepy for some reason.
